Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Course Mechanic to join our turf maintenance team at Glenview Golf Course. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and sharpening of a wide range of turf equipment, including greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and specialized reel units. A strong emphasis is placed on reel maintenance and precision sharpening to ensure consistent, high-quality cuts across our greens, tees, and fairways. Responsibilities
Perform daily maintenance, repair, and sharpening of turf equipment including greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and specialized reel units. Prioritize reel maintenance and precision sharpening to ensure consistent, high-quality cuts. Conduct reel grinding (spin and relief), bedknife sharpening, and adjust mowers for optimal height-of-cut and quality-of-cut standards. Perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues. Maintain accurate service records and collaborate with the superintendent and assistant superintendents to support daily course setup. Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering pristine playing conditions through exceptional equipment performance. Prior experience in golf course maintenance or small engine repair is preferred, along with the ability to work early mornings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions. Qualifications
Experience with reel grinding (spin and relief), bedknife sharpening, and adjusting mowers for optimal height-of-cut and quality-of-cut. Strong mechanical and hydraulic diagnosis and preventative maintenance skills. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.
