Job Title INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN
Position Overview The Electrician supports plant operations by troubleshooting, repairing, programming, replacing, maintaining, and installing electrical/electronic systems for production equipment and building utilities. Responsibilities also include following all local, state, and federal electrical codes and documenting problems and maintenance of equipment and facility systems.
Job Responsibilities
Train others as required in any phase of electrical skills, prepare workstations, and install, repair, and wire all electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits throughout the plant in accordance with national electrical code requirements.
Dismantle, inspect, diagnose, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on machinery, equipment, motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, and electronic devices. Reassemble, test, and adjust for safe operation.
Make power cable splices, work hot lines, fabricate brackets and miscellaneous parts, solder, silver solder, and brace as required; cut, thread, and install conduit; remove and replace obstructions, parts, and equipment to access trouble areas.
Fully wire and maintain building structures, including lighting fixtures; compute load requirements; perform preventative maintenance; require climbing; keep work area and equipment clean; maintain records; work from schematics, wiring diagrams, prints, written and verbal instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of related industrial electrical experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle objects and tools, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently climb or balance while performing job duties; capable of talking and hearing.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Works primarily in a plant environment with some duties inside a typical office setting.
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
May encounter a wide range of temperatures.
Noise level is frequently loud.
The plant and grounds are tobacco‑free, prohibiting all forms of tobacco and electronic cigarette devices.
