Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an FMS (Machine) Operator – Weekend Shift to join our team in Fayetteville, NC. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $17.85 to $27.93 per hour. Core hours are Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM. Note that the salary information above is a general guideline; actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
Responsibilities
Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions. Set up and operate press brakes, Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) shear, numerical controlled turret press, and computer nesting/batching systems; create and modify programs; punch and form metal to specifications; determine necessary parts/inventory and jigs/fixtures; obtain materials from stock areas. Verify job quality at each fabrication step by measuring dimensions, tolerances, pattern sequence, and necessary calculations; dial in or edit programs manually as required; assist other sheet metal fabricators/operators. Transport material to/from workstations using material handling equipment; position work material on the work surface; ensure correct parts and documentation reach the next process promptly. Prepare components by wiping, degreasing, deburring, or grinding; activate equipment; prepare set‑up parameters; direct lower‑coded personnel in operation. Pickup and place scrap in appropriate containers; document or record work as required. Operate spot welding machine, power grinder, sanders, hand‑tools, band saw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs and fixtures, and other metal‑fabrication equipment as directed; inspect parts periodically or as directed, using drawings/blueprints; make necessary adjustments; keep accurate piece counts and other applicable records; inform Supervisor of quality problems. Maintain equipment, including tooling condition, oiling/greasing, machine settings, tooling changes, and minor adjustments; complete maintenance check sheets; inform Supervisor or Maintenance personnel of issues. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; keep oil deposits off the floor; dispose of trash and scrap; observe all health, hygiene, and safety policies. Required (Basic) Qualifications
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Fayetteville, NC will be considered. Previous experience using precision‑measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, etc.; proficiency with hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, drills, grinders, portable band saws, files, power hand tools, drill presses, air‑driven hand tools). Previous experience reading drawings and/or blueprints. Previous experience with general operation and troubleshooting of the equipment. DMM experience.
