STS Technical Services is hiring Sheet Metal Mechanics with A&P Licenses in Waterford, Michigan. Whether you're just starting out or have a few years of hands‑on experience, this is your chance to work on advanced business‑class aircraft alongside a dedicated, professional team.
Position Summary As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you'll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and fabricating structural components on turbine‑powered, transport‑category aircraft. This role blends technical expertise with precision craftsmanship in a fast‑paced, safety‑first environment. If you're highly detail‑oriented and passionate about aviation, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Perform structural maintenance and repairs on transport‑category aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations
Use blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematics to diagnose and complete structural repairs and modifications
Fabricate, install, and replace sheet metal components using specialized tools and precise measuring equipment
Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs and inspections
Collaborate with FAA representatives, pilots, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes
Support compliance with both Part 145 and Part 135 repair and operational standards
Adhere to safety protocols while keeping the work area clean and organized
Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors
Qualifications
Valid FAA Airframe License required; Powerplant License strongly preferred
1‑2 years of recent experience in aircraft structural maintenance (turbine‑powered aircraft preferred)
Experience working in a Part 145 repair station and Part 135 operational environment (required)
Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus
Strong ability to interpret maintenance documents and technical manuals
Capable of working independently on structural, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and safety awareness
