Under the supervision and direction of the Landscape Management Team, the Landscape Technician is responsible for installation and maintenance of the landscape of Destination Kohler businesses and specified Kohler Co. Corporate grounds, nurturing and preserving the unique beauty and charm of all corners of our world‑class resort.
Specific Responsibilities
Landscape Technician I:
Installation of landscape features (herbaceous plants, woody ornamentals, turf, irrigation, hardscapes, and holiday/seasonal decorations).
Maintenance of landscape properties (watering, turf mowing, weeding, hard surface care, pruning, mulching, IPM).
Maintenance and operation of equipment (leaf blowers, hand tools, string trimmers, push & riding mowers, chain saws, skid steers, tractors, pickup trucks, golf carts).
Assist with snow removal responsibilities (shoveling, application of ice melt, snow plowing, snow blowers, power brushes).
Observe standard operating procedures to provide a safe working environment.
Perform any other work as assigned by Landscape Management Team.
Landscape Technician II:
All duties of Landscape Technician I.
Coordination and implementation of assigned projects through personnel to specific jobs/tasks at predetermined locations.
Demonstrate mastery of all skills and knowledge base of landscape maintenance and construction practices.
Train and mentor Landscape Technician I.
Landscape Technician III:
All duties of Landscape Technician I and II.
Responsible for sourcing, ordering and maintaining inventory levels of supplies and materials.
Train and mentor Landscape Technician I and II.
Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the associate’s supervisor.
Skills/Requirements
Landscape Technician I:
Associate’s degree in Horticulture or allied discipline OR equivalent field experience.
Landscape Technician II:
Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Category 3.0 Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection applicators certificate.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Landscape Technician III:
Minimum 5 years industry experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance and/or construction practices and policies.
Preferred
Possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. Hourly Rate The hourly range for this position is $18.00. The specific hourly rate may be influenced by candidate’s education and work location.
