Maintenance Electrician POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and installing new electrical components as needed. The Maintenance Electrician will work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues promptly.
Install and upgrade electrical components and systems.
Collaborate with the production team to address electrical concerns.
Clean and lubricate pumps, compressors, and other equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration activities.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Read blueprints and diagrams for guidance.
Install, disassemble, and move industrial machinery and equipment.
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards.
Document maintenance activities and repairs accurately.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues.
Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements.
Work safely and maintain a clean work environment.
Comply with dress code and mandatory PPE requirements.
Report safety hazards to the supervisor.
Provide training and guidance to other maintenance staff.
Follow all Food Safety, HACCP, Quality and Operational procedures (SOPs) as defined in NMF’s Quality Management System.
Ensure the adherence of company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a Monday to Friday schedule with hours aligned to the core working hours of the business. Overtime, weekends and statutory holiday work may be required.
Will work a combination of on-the-floor and in-office work setting.
Exposure to varying temperatures including but not limited to working in production, warehouse coolers and freezers from time-to-time.
Required to work in tight spaces, above ceilings, on ladders and scaffolding.
May be required to lift 50+ lbs.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience working as maintenance electrician or equivalent experience.
Previous experience working in food manufacturing or related industry.
Experience working with high voltage, PLCs, VFDs and other control systems.
Education, Training & Certifications:
Valid electrician’s license, working towards completion of apprenticeship or a combination of training and work experience.
Knowledge & Skill:
Proficiency in electrical systems, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code manuals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong safety awareness and knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
High attention to detail and meticulousness.
Adaptable, resourceful, and willing to learn.
