Position Overview
Position Type: Full-time, Non-exempt Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA (NAS Oceana) SA-TECH is a progressive DoD contractor specializing in range operations and maintenance, weapons testing, facilities management, and a growing cybersecurity business. At NAS Oceana, SA-TECH supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE), enabling a continuous, multi-domain Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training platform. Responsibilities
Proactively communicate with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions. Utilize all functionality of Joint Range Extension (JRE) to meet specific training event requirements. Coordinate with and train designated range personnel in the daily operation of TDL equipment via CSMs. Coordinate TDL settings with all training network participants. Support tactical data link design in validated operational requirements, including cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation. Work with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL baselines. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Work Conditions / Physical Requirements
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds. Constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight and speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of experience in tactical data and information links within the past five (5) years. Five (5) years of experience in Navy Key Management Infrastructure. Three (3) years of experience with computer/electronic systems operations/maintenance in MIDS/JRE/CMN-4, digital/analog signal processing, video/audio signal processing and recording, communications (network/multiplexer equipment, routers, fiber‑optic, data encryption equipment), digital computer systems, and auto‑transfer (UPS) equipment. Formal training in tactical data and information links. Multiple Tactical Data Link experience (Link‑11, Link‑16, etc.). Joint Range Extension (JRE) operations experience. NAVEDTRA 43462‑2A KMI PQS. Three (3) years of experience in computer systems analysis (hardware/software), computer programming, and LAN support (including server and workstations). Linux OS and network administration experience. Microsoft Windows OS and network administration experience. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. CompTIA Security+ or Network+. Operating System Training (Linux or Windows OS). Must be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 180 days and maintenance‑qualified within one (1) year of hiring. Valid State Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment. U.S. Citizenship required and must obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. May be required to be TS/SCI‑eligible.
