What To Expect
The START program is a 16-week intensive EV service training program designed for those with existing automotive experience. During the program, candidates will develop technical expertise and earn certifications through a blended approach of in-class theory, hands‑on labs and self‑paced learning. Candidates will strengthen their soft skills through team-based repair practices.
What You'll Do
Dedicate a minimum of 40 hours per week to training, including active participation in service center shadowing for practical experience
Engage in instructor‑led training to develop a comprehensive understanding of Tesla vehicles
Collaborate within a team environment during both lab and lecture activities
Prioritize safety by adhering to established protocols at all times
Maintain organization by ensuring proper tooling management
Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet weekly curriculum objectives and deadlines
Uphold a consistent and professional rapport with instructors
What You'll Bring
Attend and pass each of the 16-week training sessions with an 80% or higher GPA
Be capable of reporting to a START training location and local service center
Be willing to relocate upon successful completion of the program and accept employment at a Tesla Service Center within 30 days of graduation
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail
Work in a team-based environment with a “safety first” attitude
English language proficiency and basic computer skills, including web browsers and standard applications such as Microsoft Office
