Essential Job Functions
Operates equipment safely and uses safe work habits while performing his job function.
Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arc by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective material and notify the supervisor.
Clamps, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolts parts to obtain required configuration and positions for welding.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.
Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Follow all company policies and procedures as applicable to the position.
Follow all clean‑up & housekeeping procedures (5S).
Understand and follow health, safety, security, quality, and environmental practices as required for IATF, 19649/ISO 9001:2015.
