Job Function - General
Performs on-the-job learning in a manufacturing environment as assigned by mentor
Progress in apprentice program by attending and completing assigned courses and training
Document activities accordingly as required by department apprenticeship program and facility requirements
Complete assigned rotations by working on differing shifts as necessary
The job function list is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Schedule Varies, accommodates school schedule.
Education and Professional Knowledge
High school diploma / GED required
Must be actively enrolled and in good standing with a regional apprenticeship program
Experience 0-2 years related experience.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Entry-level working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization. Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts, and proposes a course of action. Performs entry level shop floor competencies.
Supervision Given and Received
Works under guidance from an assigned mentor and direct supervision, will receive detailed verbal and/or written instructions. Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Problem Solving
May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
Contacts/Cooperation
Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor and peers.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment Attendance Requirement
– Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
Physical Demands
– Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching: occasionally reaching upwards and downwards; frequently pushing/pulling and standing; constantly no tasks. Activities: occasionally stooping/squatting, talking, walking; frequently sitting, standing; constantly finger feeling, handling, hearing (ordinary, fine distinction, loud with hearing protection), seeing (depth perception, color vision, field/peripheral vision).
Compensation $22.00 – $26.00 per hour. Range estimate takes into account skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications and organizational needs.
