BRS is seeking a dependable and skilled
Housing Repair Person
to support the upkeep of our apartment communities. This role helps ensure our properties remain safe, sanitary, and welcoming for residents by performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and make-ready tasks.
Schedule
37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
On-call evenings and every other weekend as needed for emergencies
Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repairs to maintain safe and well-functioning housing properties
Complete repair and maintenance work including (but not limited to):
Drywall repair and painting
Door, window, and lock repairs or replacements
Appliance troubleshooting (plumbing/HVAC-related)
Janitorial duties and common‑area cleaning
Lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal
Prepare vacant units for new tenants (“make‑ready” work), including cleaning, repairs, and inspections
Complete and document work orders and tenant service requests in a timely and professional manner
Perform preventive maintenance and identify safety hazards; correct or report issues promptly
Conduct move‑in and move‑out inspections and complete required paperwork
Coordinate maintenance schedules and priorities with the Housing Manager
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times
Comply with company policies and all applicable laws, including Fair Housing, ADA, and Fair Credit Reporting Act requirements
Respond to emergencies and work flexible hours when required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
General maintenance and repair skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and organize daily work schedules
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Dependable, professional, and willing to take on‑call shifts
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
Construction or maintenance experience preferred, but not required
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Proof of vehicle liability insurance
Dependable transportation
Ability to safely and effectively use tools and maintenance equipment
Supervision This position is supervised by the
