What to Expect The Process Technician performs process-sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line, involving a variety of mechanical and chemical processes. These tasks include responding to out-of-control processes, working on yield improvement projects, handling special case non-conforming materials from the manufacturing line, and qualifying new equipment and processes introduced into the manufacturing line. Additionally, the technician conducts supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing, such as 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives, yield improvement, scrap reduction, production line configuration, and implementation of safety procedures.

What You'll Do

Support Engineering and Manufacturing by improving and updating manufacturing instructions, including rework procedures, and maintaining current qualification schedules

Train associates on new or revised manufacturing instructions

Provide daily coverage of production line processes to ensure smooth operations, with a rapid response to out-of-control processes for cost minimization and productivity maximization

Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process Cpk and product yield

Execute experiments and analyze data, including DOE and GR&R, under the direction of process engineers

Lead special case disposition of non-conformance materials from the production line, escalating issues to the production engineering team as needed

Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives; Responsible for parts and tools inventory

What You'll Bring

Associate's Degree, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience

Strong proficiency in common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.)

Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Proven ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing process; Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools

Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematic

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands

Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day

Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain

Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs

Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
