Service Technician / Field Service Technician / Gas Compression Technician
Location:
Permian Basin (Midland / Odessa Rotation)
This role supports a rapidly expanding operation servicing natural gas compression assets across the Permian Basin. Technicians operate on a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation, with housing provided, guaranteed hours, and significant overtime potential.
Base pay range $35.00/yr - $50.00/yr
Package
$35–$50 per hour
(experience-dependent)
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
Guaranteed 12 hours per day on shift
Overtime paid after 40 hours per week
Housing provided during rotation
Travel directly from housing to field sites
Role
Provide mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of natural gas compression equipment across remote field sites.
Work on Caterpillar & Waukesha engines and Ariel & Gemini compressors, including diagnostics, adjustments, component repairs, and performance optimisation.
Carry out scheduled maintenance, break‑fix repair, commissioning, and field‑based support with minimal supervision.
Operate within a 14-day-on / 14-day-off rotation, working 12‑hour guaranteed shifts (with substantial overtime).
Travel directly from company‑provided housing to job sites each day; only visit the shop for parts pickups or supervisor meetings as needed.
Maintain safe working practices in remote environments, with a maximum 16‑hour daily cap for safety compliance.
Requirements
Experience working with natural gas compression equipment strongly preferred.
Hands‑on knowledge of Caterpillar or Waukesha engines and Ariel or Gemini compressor frames is highly advantageous.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair capability.
Ability to work independently in remote field conditions.
Transferable backgrounds welcomed: Heavy equipment technicians, Power generation technicians.
