We are an air-conditioned shop. Job Summary / Objective

The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. Essential Job Functions And Duties

Determines layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Required Competencies

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR at least two (2) years’ welding experience. Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) is preferred Additional Eligibility Requirements

5AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Thursday Overtime may be required depending on manufacturing needs Physical Requirements

Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components. Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas. Enclosed non-skid shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead. Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will frequently be in close proximity to extremely hot parts or oven heat that could exceed 500 degrees, and be exposed to enclosed areas, heights, and awkward positions, dust, burns, & arc flashes; while understanding and utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment to ensure all personal safety risks are mitigated.
