Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Purpose of Position The Welder / Fabricator is responsible for assembling pieces and welding railway components using heavy machinery that emits high heat.
Task and Responsibilities
Process and organize products according to blueprints and drawings.
Operate grinder, welder, and power tools.
Finish grind, weld, fit, and assemble steel, iron, and manganese products as specified.
Assemble products in a timely manner.
Read and follow the production schedule.
Work with minimal supervision.
Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality, and Environmental Procedures, Practices, and Policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Experience in welding and grinding operations is an asset.
Experience in forklift and crane operations is an asset.
Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
Experience with measuring equipment preferred.
Basic mathematical calculation experience in addition and subtraction of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects throughout the shift.
Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach.
Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
Hearing necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.
