The Mechanic is responsible for assisting with the repair, servicing, and maintenance of company-owned vehicles and equipment, including diesel trucks, lifts, trailers, and small engines. This role works under the guidance of experienced mechanics and the Facilities Manager, gaining hands-on training and building technical skills. Essential Functions & Duties

Perform basic mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and servicing of company equipment as assigned. Assist with inspections to ensure the equipment is safe and properly serviced. Complete equipment check sheets and document work performed accurately. Support inventory management by tracking shop supplies, parts, and tools. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times. Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE. Assist with loading/unloading equipment or parts as needed. Collaborate with senior mechanics to learn hydraulic, electrical, welding, and fabrication basics. Perform other duties as assigned by Branch Management. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and work in a variety of positions on and around heavy equipment. Comfortable working in varied weather conditions and around machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and petroleum products. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Willingness to learn and grow mechanical knowledge. Basic knowledge of tools and shop equipment preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or on-call shifts. Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with mechanical equipment, automotive repair, or shop environment preferred, but not required. Basic understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, or welding is a plus. Must provide basic hand tools (company will supply specialty tools). Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required; CDL is a plus. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical. EOE Statement
