M&M Recycling is seeking an
Experienced Scale Operator
to join our fast‑paced and growing team in
Locust Grove, GA . If you have a sharp eye for detail, know your way around a truck scale, and take pride in accuracy and efficiency, we want to hear from you!
As a Scale Operator, you will play a critical role in our daily operations, ensuring the correct weighing, documentation, and compliance of all incoming and outgoing materials. You’ll work closely with drivers, equipment operators, and office staff to support the flow of material across our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks using certified large-scale truck scales
Identify and document ferrous and non-ferrous material types and corresponding weights
Issue weight tickets and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, and scale operators to maintain material flow
Follow company and state regulations regarding certified weights and transactions
Enter weights and data into our digital system or ticketing platform
Monitor and maintain the accuracy and cleanliness of the scale area
Assist with safety protocols and yard operations as needed
Requirements:
5+ years of experience
operating truck scales in a scrap metal or industrial setting
Strong understanding of
ferrous and non-ferrous metals
and their classifications
Familiarity with DOT and state Weights & Measures regulations
Ability to work in outdoor conditions and remain alert in a busy yard environment
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Basic computer and data entry skills (experience with ticketing or inventory systems is a plus)
Must be
punctual, reliable, and safety-focused
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
