$25.00 – $32.00 per hour - $1.50/hr shift premium

Job Summary The Process Technician is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing plastic molding processes to ensure consistent product quality, efficiency, and safety. This role is ideal for a hands‑on manufacturing professional with strong mechanical aptitude and prior experience in plastic molding operations. The Process Technician will work closely with operators, production leadership, and maintenance to ensure molding presses operate within established process parameters while meeting production and quality goals. This position also serves as a leadership proxy when assigned supervisors are unavailable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 12 months of training and/or hands‑on experience in plastic molding operations.
Working knowledge of plastic molding press operation and associated auxiliary equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to evaluate press and mold performance.
Ability to read, update, and maintain detailed process sheets and logs accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
Willingness and ability to work overtime as required by production demands.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a manufacturing or injection molding environment.
Experience performing basic mold inspection, cleaning, and lubrication.
Forklift or motorized equipment operation experience (or ability to become certified).
Previous experience acting in a lead or supervisory support role.
Strong attention to detail related to safety, quality, and documentation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Ensure all molding presses are operating within established process parameters to meet quality and production standards.
Inspect production output at the beginning of each shift and make necessary process adjustments to maintain conformance.
Continuously monitor molding processes through direct observation and communication with machine operators.
Communicate quality, quantity, or equipment concerns to the Production Manager and/or Plant Manager.
Fill in for machine operators during breaks or as production needs require.
Inspect molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment to ensure proper operation, including safety devices, cushions, stops, and part ejection.
Maintain, update, and properly file process sheets and process change logs for all production runs.
Clean and lubricate molds daily as required and report equipment malfunctions, initiating work requests when necessary.
Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with this role may include prolonged standing and walking in a manufacturing environment. The position requires the ability to lift up to
75 pounds
during mold installation or equipment handling. Candidates must be capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and back supports, and must work safely around industrial machinery.
