Welder - 3rd Shift

Shift: 3rd (11:00 pm to 7:30 am). Full Time. Pay: $23.18-$32.73 (depending on experience).
Caterpillar is a global manufacturer of equipment. This role is part of the Operations career area and is responsible for providing quality weldments to standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all applicable policies and procedures.
Work overtime as requested to meet production needs.
Fabricate and weld product to production expectations.
Read, interpret, and execute engineering drawings of weldments.
Understand AWS weld symbols.
Weld using standard work sequence.
Qualify in GMAW, FCAW, 2F/2G, 3F/3G, 4F/4G welding processes.
Use oxygen/propylene flame for straightening and cutting.
Use rigging and cranes for movement of weldments.
Use Andon for identifying variance from standard work.
Assist in other areas as needed.
Participate in CPS activities such as 5S and kaizen.

Must be physically mobile with ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and climb.
Must lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 lbs (min), 20 lbs occasionally, and 10 lbs frequently.

Work Environment Indoor and outdoor, exposure to temperatures below 32°F or above 100°F.
Qualifications Requirements
Minimum 12 months welding experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment or welding certification from an accredited institution.
Intermediate proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and layout weld stations.
Basic understanding of safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and measuring devices.
Intermediate knowledge of blueprint/engineering drawings.
Basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Previous experience working with tooling or modular tooling.
Additional Information
Must pass welder qualification during Caterpillar provided training by a Certified Welding Educator, Certified Welding Inspector, or approved personnel.
