2nd shift Press Brake Operator

– O'Neal Manufacturing Services

Base pay range: $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr

Position Summary The Machine Operator may operate a variety of machines in the shop including angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.

Duties and Responsibilities

Commitment to workplace safety.

Set-up and operate machines including adjustment and/or replacement of expendable tooling, guides, jigs and fixtures.

Operate an angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.

Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Ability to operate forklift and cranes.

Ability to read and interpret forming blueprints.

Ability to understand customer tolerances.

Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander.

Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, square and caliper and micrometer.

Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

Ability to convert metric to English.

Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.

Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.

Strong attention to detail.

High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Physical Requirements

Lift 20–50 lbs repetitively throughout the shift.

Bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.

Walk 2–5 miles during the shift.

Have vision 20/30 with corrective lenses.

Maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects of precision.

Environmental Conditions

Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or chemicals.

Atmospheric conditions: Exposure to fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

Oils: Air/skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
