Maintenance Electrician Helper
Assist electrician in the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Assist in the diagnosis of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and assist in correcting the problem.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Gather tools and supplies at the work site according to the instructions of the electrician.
Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit, using a ruler and hand tools.
Drill holes for wiring, using a power drill and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.
Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
Assist in lifting, positioning, or fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
May disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
Assist senior maintenance technicians in their work.
Perform basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and fixing leaks.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment.
Perform cleaning activities such as dusting and sanitizing.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
Report any significant maintenance repairs to supervisor.
Assist in moving, arranging, and installing office furniture and equipment.
Adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
Keep a log of maintenance work and repairs.
Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands Regularly required to sit; use hands to reach and handle objects; stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
Education
– High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification/License
– TDLR, TWIC Card Required and Valid State ID or Driver's License.
Experience
– 4 years' experience in Industrial maintenance or similar.
