Job Summary and Qualifications Under the general direction of the Director of Plant Operations, the Chief Engineer and the Plant Operations Supervisor, the Mechanic III is responsible for a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and heating/air conditioning tasks to include installing and repairing equipment, and maintaining buildings and grounds as assigned. The Mechanic III is expected to be self‑motivated with a high attention to detail and task ownership, ensuring that assigned projects/tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

Utilizes power and hand tools safely and proficiently in the performance of position responsibilities.

Calculates quantity of materials and supplies needed to complete assigned projects.

Utilizes appropriate principles related to safety and infection control in the provision of services.

Utilizes appropriate body mechanics in the moving and lifting of supplies and equipment.

Utilizes appropriate precautions related to infection control in relation to maintenance of equipment, supplies, the environment, and personal hygiene activities.

Communicates effectively verbally and in writing to fulfill position responsibilities.
