Slitting Machine Operator
As a Slitting Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, running, and adjusting slitting machinery to cut tobacco material to precise width and quality standards. You will ensure quality control by monitoring the process, checking finished product dimensions, and identifying defects, utilizing QA support when necessary. Safety and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are paramount, requiring strict compliance with safety rules and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
Set up and operate slitting machinery to achieve precise cuts.
Monitor production process and conduct quality checks on finished products.
Adhere to company safety protocols and GMP standards.
Load raw materials and package/label finished goods according to work orders.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as knife sharpening and shaft maintenance.
Complete production records, time logs, and quality reports accurately.
Identify and resolve minor machine issues to reduce downtime.
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to make machine adjustments.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for long shifts (12 hours).
Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team of three.
Attention to detail for precise cutting and quality checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanically inclined with experience in automotive school or manufacturing.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Experience with roll forming and general production is a plus.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $23.00/hr.
