Responsibilities
Install, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial cooking equipment (convection ovens, conveyor‑ovens, combi‑ovens, fryers, grills, slicers, steamers, microwaves).
Install new commercial kitchen equipment including dishwashers, conveyors, ovens, stoves, kettles, fryers, steamers, and ice machines.
Diagnose commercial cooking equipment performance through observation, testing, and setup.
Disassemble and re‑assemble equipment to troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair.
Read, understand, and quote customer prices.
Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment for service of units.
Lift, carry, pull, and push components and/or equipment to test, set up, or maintain equipment.
Give and receive written and verbal instructions.
Complete documents to verify work performed.
Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
Work flexible hours as required, including on‑call nights and weekends when assigned.
Explain service charges and work performed to the customer.
Operate a company motor vehicle in compliance with company safety requirements.
Tolerate environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation.
Compensation USD $25.00 / hr.
USD $40.00 / hr.
Qualifications
Must be fully vaccinated (some clients require onsite vaccination).
Must have a current valid driver license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
EPA Certification.
Burn and fire watch certificates – a big plus.
Knowledge and experience with light plumbing, electrical and copper work related to installation.
Diagnostic ability demonstrated through a minimum of 3 years of experience and/or training in commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment (fryers, grills, coolers, ice machines).
Competent use of gauges, meters, measuring instruments, hoists, rigging equipment, torches, and hand tools.
Effective communication with customers.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the required schedule.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying) regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 8 ft, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, and grasp to perform essential functions.
Ability to safely operate a company motor vehicle and adhere to all safety requirements.
Ability to tolerate varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, poor ventilation).
Specific industry certification/license (if applicable).
Must be able to drive extended hours (up to 8‑10 hrs) on occasion.
Must be able to operate a vehicle safely and legally.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, not exceed ladder ratings, and work on ladders multiple times and access rooftops.
Must be able to haul/carry equipment and tools via ladders.
Must wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots while performing job duties.
Continuous vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
Continuous walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
Must reach hands above head, stand on hard or slippery surfaces for up to 4 hrs.
Regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders.
Navigate confined access areas.
Exposure to variable weather, moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock risk, noisy equipment – all variable environmental conditions per location.
Regular operation of computer equipment (iPad, cellphone).
