Field Controls Technician – Building Automation
Base pay range: $35.00/hr – $50.00/hr
We’re seeking a motivated Field Controls Technician to support the startup, commissioning, and servicing of advanced airflow control systems used in critical environments such as research laboratories, educational labs, and clean production facilities. These systems provide precise ventilation, air quality monitoring, and temperature control.
This is a full‑time, Monday–Friday position (40 hours per week) with occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Most work takes place on active job sites across the region, including both new construction and retrofit projects. Periodic travel may be required for manufacturer training sessions—expenses fully covered.
Responsibilities
Assist with startup and checkout of airflow control systems, including powering equipment, loading control software, performing calibrations, and verifying system functionality.
Troubleshoot communication networks and electronic assemblies at the board level.
Use electronic measurement tools to test, diagnose, and repair system components.
Ensure all system components communicate and function correctly within the networked control system.
Provide professional, responsive on‑site customer support and service.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in HVAC controls or electronic systems.
Proficient with digital measurement tools (DVM, multimeters, etc.).
Ability to diagnose and repair electronic and communication network issues.
Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to learn new technologies.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
