Job Overview As an Automotive Apprentice Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive, you will be provided mentorship and training to learn how to perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs under the guidance of a Master Automotive Technician.
Primary Focus Completing Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) on all vehicles that require a diagnostic. You will partner with the Lead Technician to conduct thorough DVIs for each vehicle.
Responsibilities
Work side by side with a certified Automotive Technician and learn to repair engines, steering & suspension, automotive HVAC systems, and much more.
Build experience and skills as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
Perform State Inspections.
Perform routine maintenance procedures, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, etc.
Perform honest, clear, and complete multi-point vehicle inspections in service to our guests.
Work as part of a team to solve technical problems quickly and effectively.
Get vehicles ready for customers, ensuring they are safe and reliable.
Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver great results.
Qualifications
A strong motivation to learn a mechanical service career path.
Ability to learn and master digital vehicle inspections.
Attending an Automotive Program or recent graduate preferred.
Some knowledge and experience in repairing vehicles preferred.
Shows a high level of interest, willingness to learn, and embraces new ideas.
Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Self-motivated and exemplifies a positive attitude.
A valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.
Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair.
Have the needed dexterity to efficiently use hand-tools.
Walk/stand for the majority of the workday.
Drive manual transmission vehicles.
Keep a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.
Efficiently navigate a computer.
