Step into a Day-in-the-LifeOn 1st shift in our Hartford shop, you’ll start by reviewing technical drawings and specifications, coordinating with the QC Manager on compliance checks, and aligning with the Production Manager on priorities. You’ll plan machining operations, assign work to a small team of machining technicians, and ensure tooling is organized and available just-in-time to avoid any delays.As you move to the floor, you’ll set up and run CNC equipment and manual lathes, troubleshoot older machinery (including light repair as needed), and mentor less experienced technicians. You’ll keep lines of communication open with the field, the fabrication shop, and engineering when issues arise. Throughout the day you’ll track information in Word and Excel, maintain a clean facility, and advance special projects for our small, agile, international growth business.What You’ll Do Provide hands-on leadership for machining operations across the shop. Execute CNC machining and manual lathe work; perform minor repairs on older machinery when necessary. Manage 1 or more machining technicians, training and supervising to uphold safety, quality, and cleanliness. Organize tooling, maintain accurate inventory, and order tooling JIT to keep production on schedule. Coordinate with the QC Manager to ensure all work meets drawing and specification requirements. Partner with field teams, the fabrication shop, and engineering to resolve operational issues quickly. Contribute to shop special projects as assigned. Credentials & Requirements

Experience in a power plant environment. Machine shop background with strong CNC skills; comfortable on manual lathes. Knowledge of ASME Welding and ASNT. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings. Proven capability to train and develop less skilled technicians. Quick-thinking, adaptable approach suited to a small, highly technical, international growth company. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and information sharing from the field. Valid driver’s license and approval of insurance for driving. Ability to obtain an ATF explosives possessor card to support assembly of charges in the machine shop. Ability to obtain an OSHA 30 card. Schedule, Pay, and Location

Shift: 1st shift. Compensation: Wage rate dependent on experience and skill level; starting at $25–30/hr . Location: Hartford-based shop environment with field and cross-functional interactions.
