Job Summary Operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic parts.
Core Responsibilities:
Ensure high productivity and maintain quality standards.
Follow machine procedures and instructions.
Adjust tool settings and perform necessary adjustments for size and accuracy.
Ensure parts meet specifications through continuous quality checks and adhering to blueprints or sketches.
Perform maintenance and resolve machining issues through collaboration with engineers or production staff.
Requirements Machine Operation
Operate CNC and other machines to fabricate parts.
Make adjustments to offset sizes.
Read and interpret technical documents (blueprints, drawings) to ensure precision.
Quality Control
Ensure parts meet required specifications.
Use various tools (micrometers, calipers) to verify the conformity of finished work.
Follow work instructions for consistent quality.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
Work with engineers and others to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Process Support
Operate multiple machines to optimize productivity.
Track tool life and look for cost-effective solutions for tooling.
Minimize machine downtime.
Company Contribution
Communicate problems or issues to supervisors.
Contribute ideas for quality improvements.
Document shift information and assist in training new personnel.
Physical Demands & Abilities
Requires physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a physically demanding environment (standing, bending, twisting, etc.).
Requires verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
Must be capable of multitasking and handling a fast-paced work environment.
Proficiency with inspection gaging tools like micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNC Lathe or Mill Machinist.
Knowledge of inspection tools and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Computer literacy required.
