We are excited to add a welder to the MAC Trailer Team. Our welder position utilizes and implements acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel materials and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor‑trailer industry.

Shift hours: Mon – Thur 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, with additional overtime. Wage range: $21.50 – $28.25 per hour.

What you will do Summary Utilizes and implements acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel materials and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor‑trailer industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily custom build fit‑up welding assignments according to quality and safety standards in assigned area(s), following tier level and/or Master Trailer Builder indication.

Review and interpret specification documentation and drawings while adhering to verbal instruction for safe and efficient build.

Communicate safety and build concerns to supervisors/managers.

Maintain a clean and efficient work area, ensuring a safe environment and awareness of material needs including inventory.

Use power hand tools (including hand crane) to perform fitting and fabrication operations to prepare materials prior to welding.

Don and doff required safety equipment as dependent on department and specific area/duties (e.g., face shield, weld hood, respirator, filtered face‑piece, weld gloves).

Organize and restock parts and materials in work area.

Assist in any area of assignment or need to complete product, including duties such as plumbing, mounting, assembly, wiring, etc., as assigned by supervisor or management.

May be required to obtain proficiency in steel and/or aluminum MIG welding.

Who you are Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

Complete company weld testing process successfully.

Successfully learn basic math and measurement functions.

Interpret and understand verbal and written communication regarding production and safety.

Work individually or as part of a team.

Increase product knowledge and skill level related to area of assignment.

Possess mechanical aptitude.

Preference for experience or knowledge in tractor‑trailer building or service & repair.

Preference for experience in manufacturing or mechanical related field.

Physical Demands

Working in and out of position may be dependent on specific department and area of assignment.

Manual dexterity required to perform job functions, including grasping and manipulating objects large and small with precise movement.

May need to lift over 50 lbs. but less than 100 lbs.

Required to push and pull with arms and hands tools and material.

May work from ladder or heights utilizing fall protection program.

Exposure to dust and noise associated with industrial environments.

Tier Level

Tier I – Entry level, under direct supervision while learning skills.

Tier II – Developed skills with supervisor checking quality.

Tier III – Mastery of skills, minimal supervision, and training of lower tiers.
