Ground Support Equipment Mechanics at AES will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role involves adhering to service bulletins, performing software updates, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for a wide range of GSE equipment. From tow tractors to aircraft refueling trucks, mechanics will ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment crucial to Boeing Dreamlifter Operations. Reporting directly to the Station Manager, mechanics will uphold the highest standards of service and professionalism while representing AES and its core principles before our valued customers. Shift: Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and/or electrical discrepancies on various GSE systems and subsystems with a specialized focus on equipment utilized in Boeing Dreamlifter Operations. Inspect, repair, and rebuild/overhaul components such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems ensuring optimal functionality and safety for equipment utilized in Dreamlifter Operations. Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications with a keen eye for precision and adherence to operational requirements. Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks on ground support equipment, documenting all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions using computer-based Maintenance Information Systems. Operate and maneuver GSE around Dreamlifter aircraft safely and effectively, ensuring seamless loading and unloading operations while adhering to Boeing's safety protocols. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies specific to Dreamlifter Operations with a focus on reducing downtime and optimizing equipment performance. Adhere to aviation-safe practices of Tool Control, FOD Prevention, Safety, and parts accountability in line with Boeing's guidelines. Maintain compliance with environmental safety and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Implement proper safety measures while operating equipment on-site. Interact professionally with internal departments and external customers to facilitate smooth ground support operations. Perform routine housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and equipment. Participate in professional development and training opportunities related to GSE maintenance. Undertake other assignments as designated by the Station Manager and Lead Technician to meet evolving needs. Qualifications And Experience
Minimum 1-4 years of service repair experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with PLC and HVAC experience. Associate degree or vocational certification/training may substitute for years of experience for entry level position. Minimum 1-2 years performing repair and maintenance on Mobile Heavy Equipment and related components. Experience with diesel-powered vehicles preferred or equivalent educational experience. Strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair required. Knowledge of corrosion control with proper PPE. Familiarity with repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot and repair components. GSE experience is a plus; automotive mechanical background or millwright experience preferred. Other Skills And Abilities
Average to advanced computer skills with aptitude to grow. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces). Must be able to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Must possess the hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks. Proficiency in reading and speaking English. Ability to work both as a team and independently. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license. No travel restrictions. Employment Type
