Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Install or remove police radios and related equipment in all police vehicles.
Install or remove radios and related equipment in city vehicles.
Install or remove mobile burglar alarms and mobile telephones in police vehicles.
Repair and/or replace radio and related equipment wiring, mobile burglar alarm and mobile telephone wiring in police vehicles, as directed by Service Supervisor.
Repair speakers, microphones and antenna systems in police vehicles.
Prepare mobile telecommunication systems for special events.
Install building alarms, including fire, water, smoke and burglar alarms.
Replace malfunctioning telephone instruments as directed by the Service Supervisor.
Comply with safety rules and regulations; keep the work area neat and orderly.
Comply with revisions from time to time after mutual consultation.
Perform other related or non‑related tasks assigned by management.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Materials Use: Ability to operate, calibrate, tune, and make adjustments on various equipment and tools.
Verbal Aptitude: Ability to use reference and descriptive data such as blueprints, manuals, and work orders.
Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Functional Reasoning: Ability to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; independent judgment on routine tasks.
Situational Reasoning: Ability to exercise judgment and creativity when evaluating information against measurable criteria.
Knowledge of basic electricity.
Physical, Environmental, and Sensory Requirements
Physical effort of 25–50 lbs occasionally or 10–25 lbs frequently; may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, or moving objects.
Vision: Ability to focus at 10 inches or less to 20 feet or more without assistance.
Environmental exposure: Inclement weather, noise, chemicals, electrical current, gases, and fumes.
Sensory: Ability to recognize colors, shapes, and sounds of job‑related objects.
