Lead Sterile Processing Technician Join Covenant Health as a Lead Sterile Processing Technician. You will lead routine maintenance, preparation, and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment in a medical facility, supervising technicians and overseeing the department in the supervisor’s absence.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and preparation of instruments, supplies, and equipment requiring decontamination and sterilization.

Maintain and assemble instruments, ensuring proper testing and functionality.

Coordinate orders, receive stock, and distribute materials and supplies within the department.

Direct and mentor technicians in routine duties.

Assume responsibility for the department in the supervisor’s absence.

Required Qualifications

Completed sterile processing class, training, or vocational education.

Experience in sterile processing, decontamination/sterilization procedures, or related job experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical laboratory.

Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Health‑Sterile Processing Association) OR National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) OR National Certified Instrument Specialist (Health‑Sterile Processing Association).

4+ years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician with emphasis on instrumentation processing and sterilization.

2+ years of experience in an acute care center with primary responsibility for instrumentation processing and sterilization.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience at Covenant Sterile Processing.

Work Information

Location: Covenant Medical Center, 3615 19th St, Lubbock, TX.

Schedule: Full time, variable shifts (days, evenings, nights). Shift hours may include 1–9:30 pm, Monday‑Friday.

Required: Live within commutable distance of the office location. Flexible for weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as needed.
