We are seeking a skilled Scale Service Technician with CDL for our Atlanta, GA team to ensure the accurate and reliable operation of a variety of scales used in industrial and commercial settings. This role involves installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to guarantee precise measurements, compliance with industry standards, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Scale Installation: Properly install and set up industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales according to manufacturer specifications.
Calibration: Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings to meet precision requirements.
Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair scales promptly to minimize downtime.
Inspection: Inspect scales for wear, damage, and functionality; address issues with load cells, displays, and other components.
Documentation: Maintain detailed service and calibration records, including certificates and service reports.
Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients regarding service requirements, estimates, and technical questions.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
Inventory Management: Track tools, parts, and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.
Training: Stay updated on industry best practices and scale technology advancements.
Skills and Knowledge
Experience in scale installation, calibration, and repair.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, NIST Handbook 44).
Proficiency with calibration and measurement equipment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.
Valid driver’s license; Class B (or A) CDL a plus.
AC/DC, MIG welding experience is a plus.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
2–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
