Pay: Base pay $80k + monthly bonus
Job description
Work in a busy boutique California law firm specializing in workers’ compensation defense.
Serve as a detailed‑oriented Workers’ Compensation Paralegal, proficient in case management.
Support attorneys through all stages of the claim lifecycle, working one‑on‑one with an attorney.
Rate and review med‑legals.
Apply knowledge of Merus Case (preferred).
Understand EDD/TTD/permanent disability and calculate retro TTD exposure.
Analyze records and determine their applicability to a case.
Summarize claims concisely.
Draft case summaries and status reports.
Maintain case files and ensure accuracy of data in case management systems.
Identify critical issues that the attorney needs to address.
What we provide
100% of your medical insurance coverage, 50% for any spouse or dependents.
Office paid lunches every Friday.
Generous bonus structure, employer retirement contribution, and year‑end bonus that could increase total yearly earnings to over $100,000 for the right candidate.
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies, legal assistant program, or equivalent (preferred).
5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation law (required).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
