Summary
Performs all types of cable repair, testing and technical analysis including acceptance testing, fiber optic construction and maintenance, transmission/noise isolation, operation of all types of heavy equipment, complex air pressurization problems and sealed plant repair. Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment and fiber optic tools for cable construction and maintenance. Conduct acceptance testing and technical analysis of cable systems. Perform complex air pressurization and sealed plant repair. Handle 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; push, pull, lift, and bend as required. Work at heights, handle ladders, climb poles, and work in close spaces. Qualifications
Strong leadership skills and integrity. Knowledge in all types of splicing activity, cable and safety test equipment, and cable construction equipment. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, basic AC/DC theory, and reading CAF work orders. Requires class "A" CDL driver's license and clean driving background. Experience with heavy equipment, fiber optic construction, transmission/noise isolation, and sealed plant repair. Physical Requirements
Handling 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally. Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and manual dexterity. Working at heights, handling ladders, and pole climbing. Tools and Equipment Used
Backhoe, cable plow, megger, ohmmeter, pusher, 3M modular splicing unit, locator, DAVAR test equipment, line truck, semi-truck, trailers, CSU and aerial devices, hand/power and splicing tools. Additional Duties
