AM Law 100 NYC Firm seeks a Restructuring Paralegal, who will assist the firm’s Restructuring lawyers in all aspects of their practice.
Responsibilities
Assist in all aspects of the restructuring practice, including the Chapter 11 reorganization process, out-of-court workouts, and creditor/lender representations.
Analyze claims, objections and related documentation.
Cite-check, Shepardize, Bluebook and proofread court filings and memoranda.
Coordinate e-filing and service process with the Managing Attorney’s office for federal/bankruptcy court.
Perform statistical and factual research and compiling data for analyses.
Assist in all phases of trials/mediations.
Handle ad hoc requests from the lawyers, researching targets and providing information.
Prepare fee applications and monthly fee statement narratives.
Assist in analyzing potential business opportunities, reviewing conflict reports, preparing and reviewing pitch materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of law firm restructuring or bankruptcy experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm representing debtor and creditors in complex Chapter 11 and 7 cases.
Knowledge of Bankruptcy Court rules and procedures.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems and develop solutions.
