Legal Secretary - Medical Malpractice Defense
We specialize in medical malpractice defense and are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary with 3-4 years of experience in personal injury, insurance defense, or medical malpractice. Base Pay $65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive legal research and case analysis to support attorneys in case preparation.
Manage case files effectively, ensuring all relevant information and documents are properly organized and easily accessible.
Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal formats and regulations.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions and communications.
Liaise with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and other appointments for attorneys.
Assist in the preparation of legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions.
Nurture client relationships, ensuring their needs are met, and their concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or a similar role in the legal industry.
Proficiency in legal research and case management tools.
Excellent knowledge of legal terminologies, regulations, court procedures, and the legal system.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with keen attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
High level of professionalism and discretion, with the ability to handle confidential information sensitively and responsibly.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal software.
Paralegal certification or a degree in law, or a related field, would be an added advantage.
