Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Diagnostics: Conduct inspections on wheeled vehicles and trailers during turn-in to verify condition, serviceability, and compliance with Army standards. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and brake system malfunctions. Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) using Army standards and Technical Manuals. Recommend condition codes based on inspection results. Repair & Maintenance:
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, electrical, and braking systems; conduct lubrication, filter changes, tire replacement, and part swaps. Identify vehicles beyond economical repair and prepare documentation for turn-in or disposal. Support maintenance and readiness of site-owned Material Handling Equipment (MHE) when required. Documentation & Records:
Record findings, repairs, and maintenance actions on DA Form 2404, DA Form 5988-E, or automated maintenance records; maintain complete logs in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS; support audit readiness. Safety & Compliance:
Follow all Army, OSHA, and company safety regulations; ensure compliance with HAZMAT handling, spill prevention, and environmental standards; maintain clean and safe work areas, tools, and equipment. Support to Turn-In Operations:
Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Inspectors, and Material Coordinators to align vehicle processing with turn-in requirements; provide technical expertise during high‑volume or mass turn‑in events; assist with preparing vehicles for storage, shipment, or transfer to redistribution sites. Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training in vehicle mechanics preferred. 3–5 years of experience in motor vehicle maintenance; Army tactical/non‑tactical vehicle experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with U.S. Army maintenance procedures, PMCS, and Technical Manuals. Knowledge of Army maintenance regulations (AR 750‑1, DA PAM 750‑8) and logistics systems such as GCSS‑Army. Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; read and interpret Technical Manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Effectiveness in recordkeeping and reporting. Strong teamwork and communication skills in high‑tempo environments. Valid driver’s license: Army OF‑346 military driver’s license preferred; Colorado driver’s license required with proof of vehicle insurance and Real ID. Must be able to travel 75% of the time within the U.S. Benefits
