Lynnwood, WA . Hours: Monday–Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Job Summary The Electronics Assembler works proficiently and independently, with limited supervision, performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and written instructions. The assembler also communicates with the manufacturing team and performs visual and dimensional inspection.
Essential Functions
Perform assigned assembly tasks.
Prepare components prior to assembly: clean, mark, and inspect components, sub‑assemblies, or completed assemblies.
Test finished assemblies.
Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery.
Observe proper health and safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals.
Train and mentor new employees and other team members on new processes, procedures, and Crane tools.
Prioritize daily demand per Master Schedule Report for the cell(s) they are working in.
Discuss and problem‑solve quality issues with Manufacturing Engineers, the Quality group, and leadership.
Create work orders, Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues, and First Article Inspections (FAIs) at "In process/End Item" as well as other assembly functions.
Practice safe work habits per OSHA and Crane policy; proactively identify safety concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutions.
Participate in area and machinery cleaning, and in team meetings for improvement.
Cross‑train to work on at least four products.
Complete job‑related company training courses.
Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.
Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
Non‑Essential Functions
Understand and/or participate in internal/external audits.
Perform inventory cycle counts.
May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies.
Minimum Qualifications
1+ year of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment; soldering experience required.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other manufacturing techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in reading comprehension of work‑related documents; basic computer skills.
Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception; manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; adept hand‑eye coordination and arm‑hand steadiness.
Ability to interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information, and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams.
Ability to work well in a high‑paced, high‑volume environment.
High School diploma or equivalent; fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience.
Eligibility to access Controlled Data or Information: only U.S. Persons will be considered for positions requiring such access under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to coach, mentor, and provide input into the employment process.
Ability to perform part marking, wrapping, and packaging finished goods and transport to other work areas.
Ability to complete paperwork accurately and close work orders.
Ability to anticipate sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions.
Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule.
IPC solder rework certification.
Designated Inspection certification.
Working Conditions
Normal manufacturing environment; may require PPE such as eye safety glasses, gowns, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other required gear.
Potential exposure to loud noise, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
Standing: approximately 25% of the shift; Sitting: approximately 75% of the shift.
Lifting up to 40 pounds; pushing up to 40 pounds.
Use of soldering equipment, microscopes, and magnifying glasses.
Workspace: Assembly Cell.
