Under general supervision perform communication maintenance duties with the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Duties And Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair communications cabling (wire and fiber), circuits, wiring, conduit, equipment, systems, and end‑instruments for EWOCS facilities.
Communications systems and end‑instruments may include Telephone, Narrow Band, Wide Band, Timing, Digital Voice, VoIP, Public Address/Aural Warning, CCTV and Computers.
Maintain circuit records, drawings, traffic analysis records, and other documentation to ensure configuration management and assist in system analysis.
Prepare maintenance procedures and assist in training of personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent with two years related experience.
Experience in at least three of the following categories: cabling (wire and fiber), Telephone, Multiplexers, Timing, Digital Voice, VOIP, Public Address/Aural Warning, CCTV or CRA (bench Tech). One must be Digital Voice or CRA (bench tech).
Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, lifts, precision measuring and testing equipment.
Must comply with safety policies and use protective equipment where required.
Must work well in a team environment and interface well with the client.
Accurate written and verbal communication.
Possess or able to obtain a Class D motor vehicle license.
Ability to obtain secret security clearance.
AS/AA or higher in IT/Communication or related fields preferred.
NET+ or CCNA certification preferred.
Knowledge of CCAS facilities preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be able to climb ladders, towers, and stairs and lift 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish colors.
Able to operate a motor vehicle.
Working Conditions and Environment
Frequent overtime and extended shifts may be required to meet demanding schedules.
Work at heights, in confined spaces and hazardous environments may be required.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Indoor and field work required.
