Job Summary / Duties
Responsible for properly setting up machines in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. Adhere to all approved procedures and work instructions.
Make machine adjustments to maintain acceptable finished product, bake time, and machine speeds.
Responsible for assisting and maintaining production line efficiency.
Conform to all quality standards (HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and CTS).
Ensure appropriate maintenance and repair of production equipment, including initiating, monitoring, and completing work orders in SAP.
Responsible for planning and conducting changeovers as needed.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis process using tools such as 5-Why and A3 analysis and other problem‑solving methods.
Maintain good work area housekeeping practices according to 5S standards.
Assist in training by ensuring proper placement of qualified operators.
Provide operators with the proper tools to do their job safely and efficiently.
Work with operators to ensure that all product meets established quality standards.
Responsible for on‑timeline start‑ups.
Ensure that ingredients are being monitored to ensure quality.
Conduct SQF audits.
Monitor and audit all procedures in scaling and mixing areas.
Assist with production reporting, ensuring accuracy.
Communicate issues with product quality, equipment needs, work procedures, and safety concerns to the appropriate people.
Responsible for scheduling Prisma in the absence of an IC.
Inspect and actively assist with preparation and set‑up of all processing equipment in assigned area.
Responsible for monitoring rotation of ingredients, including lot numbers and delivery dates.
Ensure compliance to Kosher/Non‑Kosher guidelines.
Assist in testing of new products in their area of responsibility.
Communicate and confirm all recommended dough changes with supervision.
Ensure that meal and add‑back is being used properly.
Always follow all safety work rules and complete job tasks in a safe manner. Conduct Job Safety Observation (JSO’s) and safety audits.
Mandatory overtime may be required.
May perform other duties as required.
Job Specifications Education & Experience Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related manufacturing experience is preferred. Be able to safely use basic hand tools. If selected, must attend and complete all training and development courses that are deemed necessary as it relates to baking and manufacturing cookies/crackers.
License / Certification Must have power industrial equipment certification with stacker/walker lifts.
Language Skills Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and have the ability to write simple correspondence and memoranda. Must be able to communicate with respect, to all levels of employees.
Mathematical Skills Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to measure and scale using Metric and English units of measurement.
Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to problem‑solve issues involving several variables.
Physical Requirements
Stand for extended periods of time.
Use hands, fingers, and arms to reach and manipulate materials and equipment.
Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
Ability to use senses to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and regularly push/pull heavy loads on wheeled dollies.
Work Environment
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration.
May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperatures and wet environments.
The noise level in the work environment is high.
Must be able to work in a team environment and able to adapt to frequent change with a positive attitude.
This position will require overtime as deemed necessary to support operations and preventive maintenance activities.
Compensation and Benefits Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training.
