About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems within our cold storage facility. This role requires a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
What You’ll Do
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and systems, including refrigeration units, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
What You Bring to the Pak
Experience:
Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a cold storage or similar environment.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Certifications:
Required/preferred certifications – e.g. HACCP, BRC required. OSHA certification a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in cold storage environments as low as -10 °F.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
