$27.88/hr OR $58,000/yr
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Builder – Enclosure (Mechanical Assembler) to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the mechanical assembly of generator enclosures, piping, and heavy industrial components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in a heavy industrial environment, operating material handling equipment, and interpreting technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble and fit mechanical parts, enclosures, piping, and structural components
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to guide assembly operations
• Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists to safely move heavy parts and materials
• Install major components such as tanks, louvers, frames, generators, and panels
• Use hand and power tools to complete complex assemblies and mechanical fits
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure parts and finished assemblies meet quality standards
• Assist with on-site installation, service, and warranty work when required
• Provide feedback to engineering and supervisors for continuous improvement
• Follow all safety procedures and perform equipment inspections (cranes, lifts, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Train and mentor junior team members
Qualifications Required
• Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience in heavy industrial mechanical assembly
• Proficient in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical documentation
• Certified in forklift and overhead crane operation
• Physically able to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and work in a high-traffic shop environment
• Knowledge of material handling protocols and equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial components and tools
• Clear understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe work practices
Preferred
• Experience in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment
• Background in genset assembly or large-scale industrial equipment
• Service technician experience is a plus
