Hours:
Monday through Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. with overtime as needed on Fridays and Saturdays.
Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, electrical and electronic systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function.
Diagnose and repair electromechanical equipment; hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, PLC integration. Understand integration between systems.
Use MaintMizer to open, close work orders and document repairs, keeping production informed of progress.
Dismantle defective machines, install new or repaired parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Replace and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Read blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials (mastery).
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, etc.
Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment and programmable controllers.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
Log time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.
Design and fabricate machine and equipment modifications as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.
Qualifications Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2‑year college or technical school in maintenance or related field and 6 years technical experience in industrial maintenance position or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment and can demonstrate mastery of at least four (4) of the essential maintenance skills. Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently walks, occasionally sits, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, and must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to read and understand English.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
