Base pay range $19.00/hr - $19.00/hr
Job purpose To ensure high-quality production of blow/injection molding products by safely and efficiently cutting, trimming, and assembling the plastic components to the specified dimensions.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Cut and shape plastic materials (deflash) to ensure product specifications are met by using a cutting knife, scraper or other tools.
Conduct quality checks to ensure finished plastic components meet the required dimensions and quality standards as described in the Quality specification sheets.
Monitor machines during production to prevent jams, malfunctions, or other issues and report in a timely manner to Process Technicians or Supervisor.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate production records, including quantity and quality of plastic components produced during each shift to ensure information integrity.
Collaborate with colleagues in the manufacturing department to ensure the seamless production of plastic products by communicating and providing assistance when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized working area to contribute to safety and well-being of co-workers.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing setting and/or operating plastic cutting equipment for blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion machine products, is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
Ability to use simple math arithmetic – addition and subtraction.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, bilingual is a plus.
Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs. repetitively and stand for extended periods.
Working conditions
The job involves working in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled and where exposure to heat, loud noise and dust is common.
