SUMMARY Understand and reinforce the company’s vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Perform assigned tasks in a manner that reflects and achieves the company’s core values: safety, integrity, teamwork, growth, and results. Operate equipment, material, and tools to produce slit coils and butt welds that meet ASTM specifications. Comply with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gauges, and tape measure.

Use shop floor system and select proper slit coils to match customer orders.

Verify selected slit coils for thickness and width accuracy.

Operate end welder to butt weld coil to previous coil in the mill.

Ensure weld quality and seamless process throughout the mill.

Load and unload steel.

Operate forklift and overhead crane.

Deliver bottom portion of slit coil tags to Mill Operator for processing and tracking.

Assist during changeovers as needed.

Maintain complete knowledge of company quality and safety requirements and housekeeping rules.

Communicate any safety, quality, maintenance, customer focus, or equipment issues to management and peers as part of improvement initiatives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Ability to conform to safety and quality requirements.

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, twisting, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

Ability to work in a non‑climate controlled facility.
