Job Description
Interpret engineering drawings, fit and weld metal components, operate welding equipment and ensure weld quality.
Pass one or more ASME welding tests after hire.
Perform all tasks to ASME standards and requirements.
Use blueprints and design sketches to verify dimensions, tolerances, and component placement.
Maintain accurate documentation related to job duties.
Take responsibility for assigned tools and equipment.
Weld metal parts on fixtures, attaching jigs and clamps to hold parts correctly.
Employ Stick, TIG, MIG, and optionally Sub‑Arc welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions once ASME test is passed.
Cut materials using air arcs, burning rods, and acetylene/oxygen torches to fit fabrication specifications.
Problem‑solve and make independent decisions regarding weld drawings and fabrication issues.
Required / Recommended Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
Technical training or welding experience strongly preferred.
Ability to work with precision instruments.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
