Job Overview NC State Dining offers a temporary Floor Supervisor position in the Atrium dining facility located in the Talley Student Center on the campus of NC State University. The role focuses on maintaining smooth dining‑room operations for the PM shift, supervising employees, ensuring SOP compliance, providing excellent customer service, and aiding in closing duties as needed.

Essential Job Duties

Organize and manage the dining room to maintain operations for the PM Shift.

Supervise all employees on their shift.

Ensure Unit SOPs are being followed and staff are on task; provide professional redirection as appropriate.

Assist with closing duties as necessary.

Provide excellent customer service.

Other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.

May be asked to assist in other locations as necessary.

Work Schedule 10am to 9pm Monday‑Thursday; hours are subject to change based on business needs.

Minimum Experience / Education

High School Diploma or equivalency.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered.

Experience in a similar capacity.

Department Required Skills

Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.

Provide outstanding customer service, maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Process credit card and One Card transactions as required.

Work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing customer volume.

Work well as part of a team.

Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn new department‑specific software.

Follow written and/or verbal instructions.

Excellence in completing all tasks.

Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, pull and push.

Work in extremely hot and cold conditions; lift up to 30 lb.

Maintain a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Preferred Experience / Training

Experience working in a high‑volume restaurant/food service.

Supervisory experience.

Required License or Certification ServSafe certification is a plus.
