Thermoforming Process Technician

Night shift (7 PM – 7 AM) – Bridgeview, IL

Responsibilities

Guide the team’s mission in productivity, safety, quality, operations, continuous improvement, and team effectiveness.

Operate and troubleshoot Thermoforming and Extrusion equipment at an elevated level to resolve complex issues.

Support changeovers with minimal downtime and keep production rates within target.

Provide recommendations for process sheet updates and quality improvement programs.

Train all levels of operators on proper equipment operation and safety procedures.

Validate operator skill levels for pay‑for‑skill advancement.

Collaborate with Training, Material, and Shipping teams to meet material consumption standards.

Carry out additional duties necessary to operate the plant safely and efficiently.

Technical Knowledge

Expertise in sheet extrusion, forming, and trimming of thermoformed products.

Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles applicable to manufacturing equipment.

Ability to operate and troubleshoot Thermoforming and Extrusion equipment.

Knowledge of company‑specific products, materials, and production methods.

Advanced mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.

Safety

Demonstrated ability to comply with all company safety policies and exemplify our safety programs.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Experience in plastics processing, including forming and extrusion.

Experience working with machinery and understanding of tooling, machining, and material flow practices.

Strong interpersonal skills to train, communicate, and lead effectively.

Ability to work a 12‑hour COP shift.

Preferred Qualifications

Two‑ or four‑year technical degree or certification.

Project team coordinator experience.

Experience with FEA and quality gauges to support a zero‑part‑defect environment.

Compensation Pay range: $38.81 – $49.89 per hour (weekly payments). Additional $1 per hour shift differential. Eligible for annual and skill‑based wage increases, monthly productivity bonus, and referral rewards.
