About this role
We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. In this role, you will perform service work that includes troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure that all work meets high-quality standards and local codes. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
Manage the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
Maintain safety equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience with tools such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical fitness to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
In‑depth knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Proven customer service record and a focus on professionalism and satisfaction.
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software.
Leadership and teamwork abilities to work with apprentices and coordinate with other trades.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls as needed.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License.
Additional certifications such as backflow prevention and gas piping are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Lifting 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, and pushing, carrying, pulling.
Performing fine detail work with hand tools.
Ability to work indoors/outdoors, stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and arms.
Exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.
